First Look: Nonie Creme Colour Prevails

Early on in this blog, I introduced butter London to some of you with that introduction to the brand I was introduced to the at the times Creative Director Nonie Creme.  Nonie was such a wonderful creative force behind the brand, and a friendly, smart and wonderful person, which is why I was so sad when she left the company.  At the end of 2014 I started hearing a buzz that Nonie was coming back with her own brand Nonie Creme Colour Prevails. I watched the twitter page for a while and in early 2015 the line launched, and shockingly it wasn’t at a high price point or at an inaccessible location, it was right at Walgreens and Drugstore.com. Now don’t let those locations and the price point of nothing over $20 fool you, the polishes from the Colour Prevails line are still unique and are also 5 free so it’s not full of any of the hazardous items we want to avoid. The line which was inspired by Alexander McQueen’s 2001 runway show, “Moth” is more than just polishes; there is mascara, lip gloss, matte lipstick, lipstick, eyeliner, eye shimmer, eye shadow palettes, CC Cream, and Foundation.  And each product is more than just one thing, which harkens back to the duality of the moth theme, almost all the products are two sided so you are getting so much more for your money!

For me the must haves for me so far are clearly the polishes, eye liner, and mascara.

Check out pictures and details from the nail polishes on my Instagram page (coming soon)!  Yes, the bottle is gorgeous and I know many are worried about how to apply.  The bottle is made to be ergonomic so the application process is a breeze.

One last thing, depending on if your Walgreens has extensive cosmetics section you will probably not be able to find it in stores.  So far I’ve seen it at some Walgreen’s in NYC, which means it probably is at the Walgreen’s in SF on Powell Street (the beauty section is huge and glorious).  I purchased mine via drugstore.com and because I shop there occasionally everything was a little less than the retail price %6.40 for the nail polishes and $10.40 for the eye products.
