Shop Talk: Indi
If you've been reading my blog for a while you know that I'm a tried and true jeans & t-shirt girl, I personally own 24 pair ( and counting) of jeans. So I was so pleased that I was invited to visited the design studio and offices of Indi. Indi is a Bay Area based denim brand which offers something truly unique to it's customers, a pair of custom fit jeans, designed by you to your specifications. So you will no longer have to choose between a pocket your hate, but a pair that fit you great, or a perfect fit in the thigh, but too tight in the waist. Indi promises a perfect fit, and if the jeans you order aren't just right you can exchange them and the necessary adjustments will be made for you at no cost.
In 2007 there was a National Fit Survey that was taken by people all of the country, which produced a unique algorithm to which in turn helped create the perfect fit survey that Indi uses to create a personalized pair of jeans. Indi ( before they were Indi) took this data and worked with some big named department stores to create denim lines, but in the end Indi didn't like the result so they ventured out on their own. Now you can visit http://www.indicustom.com/ and create your own jeans by taking a simple survey. All you have to do is pick the color wash, thread, fly style, hem length, and front/back pocket style. You can even support a cause by adding a small emblem to the back pocket by doing so INDI donates 10% of the total to Blood:Water Mission which provides clean drinking water to people who don't have access to it.
That's perfect fit fashion, with a conscious.
What's best about Indi is NO ONE is left behind, there are styles for men, women, and plus sizes as well as new washes in the works, like a pair of grey jeans that I got a sneak peek of and the recently introduced white jean for the summer. I'm really excited about what's coming up next, in September Indi is planning a photo shoot using real Bay Area men and women. When I say real men and women I mean it, people of all backgrounds, ages, and sizes from a San Francisco Bartender to a Bay Area Grandmother wearing jeans that are perfectly fit for them. I'll definitely be bringing you more about the real models which is set to debut in the Fall.
