I’m an eco friendly girl so that means I try and not waste, and what better way not to waste than to use a material in this case plastic, that have been deemed taboo to make clothing. Plastics Makes It Possible is showing that it can be done, and has teamed up with beach chic brand Roxy and more over there great collection with top designer Cynthia Rowley to show you just how it’s done. Dorlastan is an elastic polymeric fiber - can be used in swimwear and sport-related clothing

Texin and Desmopan are thermoplastic elastomers - these materials can be molded into various shapes, or they can be purchased as thin films - they can really take abuse and can be very stretchy, depending on the grade chosen. They are used a lot in sporting gear/clothing and also in sports shoes.

I guess we never stop to think about plastics being in fabrics. I remember in a fashion class taking nail polish remover and dissolving acetate, and then doing burn tests to identify other man-made fabrics, like polyester. What a great opportunity for recycling!
