Beauty Look of the Week: Julie Benz at the Golden Globes

Her character may be done for on “Dexter” but Julie Benz is alive and well with a beautiful Golden Globes look. Julie is simply glowing, and I love her beautifully kissed with pink gloss lips that makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan created for her. Want to copy Dexter’s leading ladies look here’s how:

Prepare the face: First Kelsey applied , Shu Uemura 's intense moisturizing concentrate, then, brushed on a small dab of the Depsea Hydrability moisturizing lip balm ( also by Shu Uemura) to soften her lips..

FOUNDATION: Kelsey , the gave a full coverage face for the camera’s using Shu Uemura’s Face Architect remodeling cream foundation for buildable coverage. To set the foundation Kelsey “buffed on” (using a large brush in a circular motion) on Shu Uemura’s loose powder in 5YR medium light (of course you would use a color appropriate for your skin tone).

EYES: Kelsey used Shu Uemura’s eye shadow in white 906 on the inner eye as well as highlighting with the same shadow. Above the shimmer you can use a natural matte like Shu Uemura’s beige 835 in the crease for definition. To add to Kelsey’s expertise in my personal use of makeup ladies like me of darker completion can substitute the white shadow with a golden/pinky based one to give a highlighted effect.

BLUSH: Kelsey used Shu Uemura’s Amber 82 blush as a natural contour and then applied the peachy rose blush (which looks good on ladies of all skin tones by the way). She also added another color Shu Uemura’s Peach 43 on the apples of the cheeks.

LIPS: The natural lip is Shu Uemura’s lipstick in BG 907 and lipgloss OR 580N over it. To add to Kelsey’s palette I suggest Laura Mercier’s Lip Glace in rose for a pop of pink for the ladies of darker complexions.
